Question 1

What is MDRM IQ?

Accepted Answer

MDRM IQ is a regulatory intelligence platform for community banks and their advisors. It reads the call reports your institution already files, computes the metrics examiners compute, and shows each one against the published threshold and the peer figures the FFIEC publishes. It is an informational and exam-preparation tool — it surfaces data and context, and never makes a decision for you.

Question 2

Is there a free tier?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every FDIC-insured institution has a permanent public page and a free institution view covering the most recent filed quarter across all eight analytical domains — no account, no card. A free account keeps your institution set and adds the enforcement digest and regulatory calendar. The paid plans are Institutional and Enterprise; write to hello@mdrmiq.com and we will get you set up.

Question 3

How does pricing and billing work?

Accepted Answer

Pricing is agreed per institution rather than published, and is set on your subscription when the account is provisioned. Plans include unlimited internal users — there is no seat enforcement. Billing runs monthly through Stripe, and you can cancel from your account settings at any time.

Question 4

Who built MDRM IQ?

Accepted Answer

MDRM IQ is built by Unomia Labs LLC, founded by Kevin Whitworth (IAR, Arkadios Capital / Trivium Asset Management Partners) and Jason Aaberg. The platform is purpose-built for the regulatory intelligence needs of community banking.

Question 5

Where does the data come from?

Accepted Answer

Four public sources: the FFIEC's Central Data Repository bulk call report files (the backbone — up to forty quarters of filings as reported), the FDIC BankFind API (institution identity, charter, supervisor and financial series), the FFIEC's published UBPR statistics (peer figures — their trimmed averages and published ranks, never a median we computed), and the FDIC Summary of Deposits (branch-level deposit geography). Regulatory news is polled hourly from the Federal Reserve, FDIC, OCC, CFPB, FinCEN and NCUA, plus industry publications.

Question 6

How often is the data updated?

Accepted Answer

Call reports are filed quarterly and published by the agencies roughly 45 days after each quarter end; MDRM IQ loads a quarter as soon as it is available, and every surface names the quarter it is reading. Regulatory news updates hourly.

Question 7

What data is NOT included?

Accepted Answer

MDRM IQ does not access internal CAMELS ratings, classified asset reports, confidential supervisory information, examination findings, MRAs, MRIAs, board minutes, or any other non-public material. Everything the platform reads is public.

Question 8

Why do peer figures say “trimmed average” instead of “median”?

Accepted Answer

Because that is what the regulator publishes. The FFIEC computes a trimmed average for each institution's assigned peer group — excluding observations beyond a cut-off — and publishes it in the UBPR. MDRM IQ shows that figure and labels it as theirs. Where the FFIEC publishes nothing for a measure, the page says so rather than substituting a number of our own.

Question 9

Can I use MDRM IQ data for regulatory filings?

Accepted Answer

MDRM IQ is an informational tool. The underlying figures come from official sources, but you should verify anything against your institution's own records before using it in a regulatory filing or an examination response.

Question 10

What can I see without an account?

Accepted Answer

Your institution's public page and its free institution view: the most recent filed quarter across all eight domains, each signal with its status word, the basis behind it, and the published peer figure where one exists. What the free view withholds — history beyond the current quarter, cohorts you build yourself — is shown as withheld rather than hidden, so you can see what a paid plan adds before paying for it.

Question 11

How do I find my institution?

Accepted Answer

Search by name or FDIC certificate number from the homepage. Every FDIC-insured institution has a permanent URL, so the page you land on is the page you can bookmark and come back to.

Question 12

When does Field Notes arrive?

Accepted Answer

The weekly brief is generated every Monday at 6:45 AM Central and is delivered to account holders — it covers the most recent quarterly filing plus regulatory developments from the prior week. There is no public mailing list to join; the brief follows the account.

Question 13

What's in the full brief?

Accepted Answer

On Institutional, Field Notes carries the full synthesized narrative: flagged metrics, the citation behind each one, peer position, and the context around any movement since the last filing. Exam-readiness briefs and threshold alerts come with it.

Question 14

How does Proctor IQ work?

Accepted Answer

Proctor IQ takes a what-if in plain language — “what happens if CRE grows 8% and deposits run off 3%” — parses it into the variables it touches, and recomputes the affected ratios deterministically. Results come back with the thresholds each figure crosses. It is arithmetic under assumptions you state, not a forecast and not advice.

Question 15

How do I get access to the Institutional platform?

Accepted Answer

Access is set up by our team. Write to hello@mdrmiq.com and we will walk you through the platform, answer questions and get your institution provisioned — including a guided trial where that is the right fit.

Question 16

What does the Institutional plan add?

Accepted Answer

Institutional is the full platform: the complete institution view (forty quarters, cohorts you build, every derivation open), Proctor IQ, the Trend Explorer, the peer group builder, screener and comparison, the 50-rule Audit Engine, Posture (a structured record across 12 examination areas with a severity-sorted gap report and attestation tracking), Mock Examiner Lite and Full across 10 areas, the Document Vault with hash-chain verification, the regulatory response workflow (Inquiries), and the unified Records audit trail across Posture, Vault, Inquiries, Audit, Readiness and Mock Exam.

Question 17

How is Posture different from the Audit Engine?

Accepted Answer

The Audit Engine reads your filed figures against published thresholds. Posture is the inverse: it is where you affirmatively document the compliance program — written policies, designated officers, testing schedules, attestations — across 126 fields in 12 examination areas. The rollup sorts your gaps by severity so you see what is missing before an examiner does. Audit Engine surfaces metric breaches; Posture surfaces program gaps. They are complementary, not alternatives.

Question 18

What is the Mock Examiner?

Accepted Answer

A Proctor-led conversational walkthrough of the same examination procedures a real examiner would follow, sourced from FFIEC, OCC and FDIC manuals. Two modes on Institutional: Lite Audit (~15–20 min, top-level procedures) and Full Exam (~45–90 min, the full hierarchy with branching follow-ups). 10 areas are available — BSA/AML Compliance, IT / Cybersecurity, Third-Party Risk, Flood Insurance, Call Report Thresholds, Interest Rate Risk, Liquidity Risk, Safety & Soundness, CRA, Fair Lending. The output is an examination-style gap report with citation-anchored remediation paths.

Question 19

Is the Document Vault a true SEC Rule 17a-4 WORM?

Accepted Answer

No. The Vault provides cryptographic hash-chain verification on standard storage: every upload extends an institution-scoped chain, and altering stored content invalidates every downstream entry and shows up on verification. That is examiner-grade evidence that what you filed is what you stored — it is not the regulated 17a-4 WORM that broker-dealers are required to use, and we will not call it one.

Question 20

What is the Inquiries / regulatory response workflow?

Accepted Answer

When a supervisor sends an inquiry, you log it at /inquiries. The response draft pre-populates from your Posture record and the Document Vault, and every save is captured in the Records audit trail — so you can show an examiner exactly what you said, when you said it, and which data supported it.

Question 21

What does the Records audit trail capture?

Accepted Answer

Every field change, document upload, response submission and audit action, recorded as a bitemporal event (transaction time and valid time). Corrections link to the original event — never a silent overwrite. You can filter by phase (Posture, Vault, Inquiries, Audit, Readiness, Mock Exam) and export any filtered set.

Question 22

How many rules does the Audit Engine have?

Accepted Answer

50 rules per institution, across 12 categories — concentration, capital, asset quality, liquidity, earnings, interest-rate risk, multi-quarter trends, call report thresholds, enforcement history, and three attestation categories (IIA, BSA/AML, ACFE). 36 of them fire automatically from the filed figures; the 14 attestation rules need a human answer, because no call report reports whether a written program exists. Every rule maps to a published citation.

Question 23

What is attestation?

Accepted Answer

A named reviewer evaluates each finding, adds context or explanation, and records their assessment in the audit trail. That produces an examiner-ready record showing your institution identified the finding and what it did about it.

Question 24

Can I run the engine against numbers more recent than my last call report?

Accepted Answer

Yes — the 27-field input form on the Audit Engine page. It pre-fills from your latest filing; you update only what has moved (CRE balance, capital, nonaccruals), pick an as-of date, and run. The engine reruns all 50 rules and shows a side-by-side comparison: call report verdict on the left, updated verdict on the right, with every metric that moved marked. In-session only — the numbers you type are not stored.

Question 25

Is the audit trail really immutable?

Accepted Answer

Every review action, status change and attestation is timestamped and recorded against the reviewer's identity, and records cannot be edited or deleted after submission. Corrections are appended and linked to what they correct.

Question 26

Which enforcement actions does the register cover?

Accepted Answer

The register holds the actions the OCC and the Federal Reserve publish in machine-readable form, retrieved from those agencies' own endpoints. The FDIC publishes no machine-readable register, so for an FDIC-supervised bank — which is most community banks — an empty result is not evidence of a clean record. The page states its coverage every time it answers, so silence is never mistaken for a finding of none.

Question 27

What's in a custom peer group?

Accepted Answer

Enterprise lets you define your own comparison cohort rather than relying on the assigned peer group — by asset size, geography, charter type or specialty. The FFIEC's published peer figures still appear beside it; a cohort you build never replaces the regulator's, it sits next to it.

Question 28

How does the watchlist work?

Accepted Answer

Monitor up to 25 institutions. You are alerted when a watched institution crosses a threshold, appears in the enforcement register, or moves materially on a tracked metric — useful for market intelligence and M&A monitoring.

Question 29

What's in the board reporting PDF?

Accepted Answer

A governance-ready deck covering regulatory position, flagged metrics, peer benchmarks, trend analysis, the quarter's changes, and suggested board discussion questions — shaped to the board-oversight expectations examiners evaluate under the Management component.

Question 30

Can I manage multiple institutions?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The Advisor Portfolio gives advisors and holding companies a multi-institution dashboard: each institution keeps its own position, flagged metrics and trend data, with a consolidated view across the portfolio.

Question 31

How does MDRM IQ summarize my regulatory posture?

Accepted Answer

It reports the deterministic facts: which signals are in breach, approaching, drifting, passed or not evaluated; where each sits against the published peer figure; and which way the series is moving. There is no single 0–100 composite, because the regulator issues no readiness score — inventing one would be a number nobody could check.

Question 32

What is the Exam Prep Binder?

Accepted Answer

Two examiner hand-off PDFs generated from what you already have: one compiled from your Posture entries, one from the filed call report and the Audit Engine. Each section names the feed behind it, so an examiner reading it can tell which figures are filed and which are your institution's own attestations. Institutional.

Question 33

What is the CAMELS Self-Assessment?

Accepted Answer

A structured workbook across the six components — Capital, Asset Quality, Management, Earnings, Liquidity, Sensitivity — pairing your filed figures with your team's own assessment and narrative. Ratings you record are private to your institution and feed the Exam Prep Binder. Institutional.

Question 34

How does the Compliance Calendar work?

Accepted Answer

It tracks regulatory deadlines, filing dates, audit milestones and custom tasks, and links to your open findings so remediation can be scheduled and tracked. Institutional accounts get a shared, audit-trailed institution calendar; free and individual accounts get a personal one.
